Our story
Two friends. A shared ambition.
Alan and Lucas, two mates who’ve known each other since childhood.
Long before COAL’O, there were already endless discussions, ideas thrown out a little too late at night, and projects conceived without necessarily knowing where they would lead.
Over the years, one thing has remained the same: their shared desire to do things differently, but above all to do them well.
COAL'O was born out of this bond.
Not from some grand revelation.
Rather, from a simple everyday detail.
Water.
Something essential, present everywhere, all the time, but which we hardly pay any attention to anymore.
Looking at existing filtration solutions, we came to the same conclusion: between bottles you have to carry around, bulky systems, complex installations and objects we’d rather hide away in the kitchen, something needed rethinking.
So we started with a simple question:
Why couldn’t an object we use every day be efficient, intuitive and aesthetically pleasing all at once?
That question became a project.
Then an obsession with detail.
We researched, compared, tested and started again.
With one idea in mind: to create filtration solutions that we’d genuinely want in our own homes.
Products that don’t require us to change our habits.
Products that fit naturally into our daily lives.
Products simple enough to be forgotten, yet well-designed enough to make a real diference.
And that is how COAL'O came into being.
Two personalities, one vision.
As is often the case with long-standing friends, we don’t always see things in the same way.
And that is precisely what drives the brand forward.
One asks questions.
The other refines.
One imagines what could be different.
The other figures out how to make it obvious.
Between us, ideas are debated, simplified and refined until only the essentials remain.
Keeping things simple is never simple.
We didn’t just want to create a water filter.
We wanted to rethink the whole experience surrounding it.
The installation.
The design.
The gesture.
The place it takes in your daily life.
Because we believe that the best innovations aren’t the ones that constantly grab your attention.
They’re the ones that, once adopted, seem as though they’ve always been there.
And this is only the beginning.
COAL'O began with two childhood friends and a shared idea.
Today, our ambition remains exactly the same: to design useful, attractive and intuitive products centred on water, and to make a better experience accessible to as many people as possible.
Without unnecessary complexity.
Without compromising on design.
With the same high standards that have guided us from day one.
